While the "Gypsy Music" cruise is the traditional Hungarian option, not everyone wants fast-paced folk music with dinner. The Piano & Jazz Cruise is the cosmopolitan alternative.

The Entertainment: "Piano Battle"

Often, the setup involves two pianists and a vocalist.

  1. Sets: They play sets of mild jazz, movie soundtracks (La La Land, Casablanca), and pop ballads.
  2. The "Battle": The pianists playfully compete, speeding up tempos or improvising, often asking the audience for requests. It's interactive but not intrusive.
  3. The Host: usually a professional singer who guides the evening in English.

The Atmosphere

  • Lighting: Dim, candlelight.
  • Volume: Perfect for conversation. You don't have to shout over the music.
  • Dress Code: Smart casual.

The Menu (Example)

It's usually a 4-course served dinner (not buffet).

  • Appetizer: Smoked trout foam or Spring salad.
  • Soup: Goulash or Seasonal Cream Soup.
  • Main: Duck leg with cabbage, Chicken supreme, or Vegetarian lasagne.
  • Dessert: Somlói Galuska (Hungarian trifle).

Why choose this?

It feels like a supper club in New York or London, but with the Parliament floating by outside. It's classy, relaxing, and the music is universally liked. Great for mixed groups or business dinners.
